I own an 1827 Half dollar. I need to know what price it range from. I think its in great condition A nice silver color a couple scratches just the normal signs of human pills online without prescription handle. I kept it in a tight coin holder for years. What should I look for to determine the price???

US $10.72

There are 3 varieties of this coin. Two of the varieties retail for about the same money in average circulated condition (grade=Fine) which is $160.00. The third variety starts getting expensive even in this grade and retails for approx $300.00.
To get a better feel for the value take the coin to several dealers and ask them what they think it grades out at and how much they would pay for the coin. Remember he is going to offer you about 60% of retail since he is in the business to make a living and he does not control the retail price the collector market does.
A collector might offer a little more since he or she is not looking to resell the coin at a profit.
If you want to try to grade the coin yourself you could go to the library and see if they have a coin grading book you can use. It generally takes a lot of practice to get good at grading coins which is why I suggested taking it to a dealer.
Good luck.
Here are some similar prices.http://shop.ebay.com/items/?_nkw=1827+ha…
You might also want to take it to a coins dealer.
go on ebay and look up the coin. that’s the only way i really know of doing it.

In those days, it was customary to snip a lock of hair as a keepsake, and this Hiller did a day after Beethoven’s death. By the time he was buried, Beethoven’s head had been nearly shorn by the many people who similarly had wanted a lasting memento of the great man. Such was his powerful effect on all those who had heard his music. For a century, the lock of hair was a treasured Hiller family relic, and perhaps was destined to end up sequestered in a bank vault, until it somehow found its way to the town of Gilleleje, in Nazi-occupied Denmark, during the darkest days of the Second World War. There, it was given to a local doctor, Kay Fremming, who was deeply involved in the effort to help save hundreds of hunted…

It has increased, but I think it's going to go back down. We are on the brink of crisis in the financial services industry. Three major things happened today: Merril Lynch was purchased by Bank of America, Lehman Bros filed for Bankruptcy, and AIG has some big problems on the horizon. The markets lost about 4.5% today, and we are going to see some very volatile trading to come in the next few weeks.
